Hi! I'm Neha, the founder of Girls ReCode. GRC is a mentorship school club that teaches elementary and middle school girls how to code, create apps, websites, games, and much more! We want to inspire girls to innovate and nurture their own ideas and creative thoughts into social good projects and impacts.
We started this organization in the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year to help bridge the gender gap in STEM and Computer Science. At a very early age, many girls feel discouraged to pursue these fields for a number of reasons. Most of the times, girls experience a lack of resources, female role models, and have the general feeling of intimidation from STEM. Our group of mentors will help de-code this so called "difficult" field of Computer Science.
Our club creates our own free curriculum and slides and organizes our own projects to teach. We believe that one of the best methods to teach young girls is through passion projects, like creating your own apps, websites, and games.
